Davenport Education Association members are certainly busy classroom teachers or nurses, and the DEA works to support all the members in a variety of ways in and out of the classroom. But our association is more than that. We are a community that comes together not only for work-related reasons, but on occasion, we come together for fun. We work so hard all the time that it’s nice to have time together outside of work sometimes.
Last Sunday, a busload of members and their family and friends went to a Cubs vs. White Sox game at Guaranteed Rate Field. ISEA, Vice-President, Joshua Brown even came along for the fun. If you’d like to go to a game in the future, keep an eye on your email for upcoming dates for next season in April and September.
On Saturday, DEA had its inaugural family picnic at Garfield Park. Prostart students catered the event, and NEA Member benefits came to speak about benefits we might be missing out on. Although rain shut the fun down a little early, members and their families enjoyed some time eating good food, hanging out, chatting and playing games. If you missed the picnic this year, hopefully you and your family can join us next year.
DEA wants everyone to know that you are part of a community that supports you in and out of the classroom.
