The DEA awarded three students the 2019 Dwight H. Persels Scholarships. Two recipients are chosen based on the highest GPA and the third is chosen from the highest GPA to a student who intends to study education. Each recipient is awarded $700.
Carter Josund is a student at North High School and the son of DEA member, William Josund. Carter plans to study Finance.
Joseph Matheis is a student at Rock Island High School and the son of DEA member, Mark Matheis. Joseph plans to study Aerospace Engineering.
Addison Flynn is a student at West High School and the daughter of DEA member, Anne Flynn. Addison plans to study elementary education.
